ABOUT NIOS
National Institute of Open Schooling (Nios). It is one of the largest open schooling systems in the world. The National Open School was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous body by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
The motive of Nios is to impart Education in the students. Who wish to study but somehow couldn’t make it to. Or students who couldn’t manage to go to school daily because of any reason. While Nios has also taken an initiative to make jail inmates study. For this purpose, they have set up study center across different parts of the country. Currently they have twenty – two regional centers, two sub-regional center, two Nios cells, even more than seven thousand Accredited Institutions (AIs) and Accredited Vocational Institutions (AVIs).
They offer flexible ways through which students can complete their secondary, senior secondary and vocational courses. It is most suitable for students who wish to prepare for some competitive exam. As they can leave their regular school after 10th class and can prepare well for that exam. They open admissions twice in a year. If you thought that you can’t give all the papers together then. Even you can give papers in two or three slots.
NIOS admission 2020 October:
NIOS conducts secondary and senior secondary admission twice in a year. Block 1 admissions are closed now and NIOS has started admission in class 10th and 12th for block 2 October 2020 exams. The last date for admission is January 31, 2020. But you can apply for admission until March 15 with the late fee. You can take admission online or you can also take help of any reputed coaching center.
NIOS admission date for October 2020- Block 2
*Admission without late fee:
September 16 2019 to January 31, 2020.
*Admission with late fee Rs 200:
February 1-15, 2020.
*Admission with late fee of Rs 400
February 16-28, 2020.
*Admission with late fee of Rs 700:
March 1-15, 2020.
NIOS admission eligibility criteria:
- Age limit: the minimum age limit for 10th class admission is 14 years and for class 12th admission age limit is 15 years.
- Education: for the tenth class, student must have cleared class 8th from any recognized board or he/she must possess enough knowledge to sit for the exam.
- For 12th class, student must have passed 10 from a recognized board or NIOS.
